PR Trend. It’s about platforms
PR Trend conference was organized for the first time at the Faculty of Political Administrative and Communication Sciences within the Babeş-Bolyai University back in 2004. Ever since we focused on each edition on the new developments on in the communication, public relations and advertising worldwide and the implications on the regional and local level. Platforms and their role in several fields of our lives are the main topics of the 2019 PR Trend conference.
The conference will be held between September the 19th and 20th, 2019 in Cluj-Napoca.
The event is directed to scholars from the fields of communication, public relations and advertising.
Some of the themes we wish to discuss within the conference are the implications of platforms for :
-Digitalization, social media, social network sites,
-PR: strategic perspectives,
-News media, media credibility and news sharing,
-Misinformation, disinformation and fake news,
-Communication in organizations and institutions,
-Advertising: tendencies and new modalities such as influencer marketing, native advertising.
We invite interested young and senior scholars and practitioners to send an abstract of the paper they wish to present. Theoretical or/and empirical contributions are welcomed. The abstract should be no longer than 500 words and can be written in English or German.

We aim at preparing a collective volume of selected works from the conference, volume to be published in an international language at an acclaimed publishing house or in the Journal of Media Research (indexed in Ebsco, ProQuest, CEEOL).
No conference fees; participants’ accommodation and meals during the conference will be supported by the organizers. The participants are kindly asked to search for other sources of financing for their travel expenses.
